History

For almost 20 years, Harrington Park Press was the LGBT imprint of The Haworth Press, Inc. (now part of the Routledge/Taylor & Francis Group). During that time, HPP published hundreds of scholarly Haworth Press monographs and texts in paperback editions and distributed them to commercial bookstores.

HPP boasted a distribution network that included five regional sales teams, plus specialty distribution in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and elsewhere. In addition to LGBT titles, the imprint published professional books on health care and self-help.

As part of the sale agreement between Haworth Press and the Routledge/Taylor & Francis Group, the Harrington Park Press imprint and trademark were retained by Bill Cohen, the founding publisher of Haworth Press.

The current iteration of Harrington Park Press continues the heritage of our previous longstanding effort. Our primary focus will be to publish specialized academic and scholarly titles, and whenever possible we will provide simultaneous eBook editions so as to reach a broader readership. Our intention is to provide a leading edge, independent publishing outlet for LGBTQ scholarship and professional practice.
